Larry Wiggers Overby

Larry Wiggers Overby, 78, of Kennesaw, GA, formerly of Columbus GA, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021.
He is the son of Edgar Calhoun Overby, Sr and Mary Pearl Wiggers Overby. He graduated from Jordan Vocational High School, Class of 1961. He attended Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN on a football scholarship. He has been a successful business entrepreneur for the past 56 years. He was the President and Owner of Overby-Seawell Company for 23 years. He was the Chairman of the Board of the SouthPoint Financial Company, CEO of Black Umbrella Company and owner of LWO, LLC.
He was a generous man, a great brother, brother-in-law and uncle. He was smart, jovial and competitive. He loved to play golf. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Calhoun Overby, Sr. and Mary Pearl Wiggers Overby and brothers, George W. Overby and Ned W. Overby.
Survivors include brother, Edgar Calhoun Overby, Jr. (Linda) Brandon, MS; niece, Susan Kaye Overby Polk (Jeffrey), Brandon, MS; and nephew, Dr. Steven Todd Overby (Whitney), Collierville, TN; one great-nephew, William Reece Overby, Collierville, TN; and five great-nieces: Victoria Chandler, St. Louis, MO, Annaleigh Palmer, Brandon, MS , Bailey Overby, Knoxville, TN, Sarah Polk, Pelehatchie, MS, and Quinn Overby, Collierville, TN.
Services were held at McMullen Funeral Home, and he was interred at the family plot in Riverdale Cemetery, Columbus, GA.
