Larry Joe Munn, known affectionately as Larry to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 5, 2025, in Columbus, Georgia, after a courageous battle with small cell lung cancer. Born on January 20, 1961, in Florence, South Carolina by his late parents Carrie Mae and Harry Frank Munn.
A Memorial Service will be held 5:00PM, Saturday, March 8, 2025 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
A man who built his life on the foundations of love and hard work, Larry will be remembered as the cherished founder of Door Specialities, Inc. He was as passionate about his work as he was about his leisure pursuits, which included camping, fishing, and following the fast-paced excitement of NASCAR. Larry's love for laughter and seizing the joys of each day were a testament to the way he lived his life, fully and unapologetically.
Left to honor Larry's memory are his adoring wife, Terrie Munn, together with their children—LJ Munn (and spouse Brandi), Leigh Munn Getkin (and spouse Cody), and Scooter Brown—as well as his cherished grandchildren, Bristol and Tripp Munn, and life long friend Jane Walker will continue to be guided by the loving legacy he has left behind.
Larry's siblings Lutricia Gaymon (and her husband Jackie), Susie Lynch (and her husband Multer), Gaynell Culpepper (and her husband Mark), Wayne Munn (and his wife Cindy), Vanessa Munn (and her partner Chuck Rogers), April Parsons (and her husband Darryll), Mary Munn, Howard Petty, and Johnette Touchberry (and her husband Will) feel the deep loss of a brother who was always more than family, but a true friend. The late Perry Munn, his brother who preceded him in death, welcomes him to a peaceful rest. Throughout his life, Larry gathered an abundance of nieces and nephews, each touched by his unique ability to make people feel loved and valued.
Larry's love for his family was unparalleled. He eagerly embraced the role of a family man, often asserting that the time spent with his loved ones was his greatest treasure. This love extended to joyful family gatherings where his laughter was infectious, his advice sought after, and his presence valued.
Even in times of leisure, Larry was never one to shy away from a good time. Whether it was camping or the quiet banks of a fishing hole, he exuded a zest for life that was contagious, often reminding those around him to appreciate the simple moments that bring genuine happiness.
The void left by Larry's passing is immeasurable, yet his life's journey stands as a testament for all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we celebrate his life and honor his memory, we find comfort in the echo of his laughter, the wisdom of his words, the unwavering love he had for his family and friends, and his faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Larry's infamous words, "It's All Good".
