Larry Joe Isbell, 73, of Fortson, Georgia, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 9, 2022, with his wife, Linda by his side.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Interment will be held at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery

Larry was born in Cullman, Alabama on December 19, 1948 to Joseph F.M. Isbell and Vonda Lee Isbell.  Larry graduated from Hanceville High School in 1967 and joined the Army in 1968.  He served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970 and was honorably discharged in 1970.  Larry worked for Alabama Power Company for 34 years and retired as a Power Systems Coordinator.  Larry was a member of the Alabama Power Energizers and a current member of the Georgia Power Ambassadors.

Larry is survived by his wife, Linda Hudson Isbell, his mother Vonda Isom, siblings Brenda DeMonia, Charles Isbell, Emily White, Norman Isbell, Robert Isbell, Steve Isbell, and Lawrence Isbell, stepchildren Donnie Weaver (Kimberly) and Lori Garrett (Edward), five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph F.M. Isbell, and his son, Christopher Heath Isbell.

Larry met his wife Linda at work in 1998 and married in 2000.  They lived in Alabama until they moved to Georgia in 2016.  Larry enjoyed working in the yard, watching news networks, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.  Larry and Linda loved to travel and made many memories together traveling the world.

Larry will be remembered as someone who loved and supported his country with intense devotion.  He was a devoted son, husband, brother and grandfather.  Larry was generous, loyal, had a loving smile, and loved a good laugh.
