Larry Wayne Cosby 83, of Columbus, GA. died Friday, January 01, 2021 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 07, 2021 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Glen Presley officiating. Interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, we encourage everyone to make the best decisions to remain safe. If anyone wishes to attend the graveside service, please remember to remain 6 feet apart from those not in your household and wear personal protective equipment.
Mr. Cosby was born August 6, 1937 in Phenix City, Alabama son of the late C.F. Cosby and Verna Turner Cosby. He retired after 34 years as an Inspector at Columbus Carpet Mill. Mr. Cosby loved playing golf and spending time with his family. He was a member of New Vision Christian Ministries in Waverly Hall, Ga.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Cosby, daughter, Angela Pennington and step- daughter, Charlotte McDaniel Stone Pope.
Survivors include his children, Larry Cosby, Mike Cosby, Richie Cosby (Tara) and their 4 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his step-children Brenda McDaniel Smith (Charlie "Bo"), Glen McDaniel (Melinda), son-in-law, Dan Pope, 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great -great grandchildren.
