Nan Floyd, 81, of Columbus, GA, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and laughter. She was a woman who believed that the smallest gestures could make the biggest difference—whether it was a handwritten letter to brighten someone’s day, a walk with friends, or a well-timed joke that brought joy to those around her.

A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 - 4:00PM Saturday, April 12, 2025 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

She had a deep love for words, both written and spoken, and found joy in reading, writing letters, and sharing stories with those she loved. Her sense of humor was a gift, a reminder that even in life’s hardest moments, laughter was never far away.

At the heart of her life was her beloved husband, Calvin, her partner in everything. Together, they built a life of devotion, adventure, and unwavering support for one another. She was a loving mother to her three daughters, Helen (Ed), Nancy (Mike), and Kristi (Steve), who will forever carry her wisdom, warmth, and laughter in their hearts. She was also reunited in peace with her son, Bryan, whom she never stopped loving and holding close in her thoughts.

Nan was a proud and adoring grandmother to Eddie and Bryanne (Helen and Ed); Alex and Nick (Nancy and Mike); and Caroline, Amanda, AJ, and Ava (Kristi and Steve). She cherished each of them, filling their lives with love, encouragement, and unforgettable memories.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit lives on in the kindness she showed, the laughter she shared, and the love she gave so freely.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that small acts of kindness be done in her memory—write a letter, share a book, or simply make someone smile. That is how she would want to be remembered.
