Kreszenz “Zenta” Dalrymple, 91, died May 14, 2021 in Columbus, GA. She was born on March 23, 1930 in Straß-Moos, Germany to Josef and Kreszenz (Kugler) Wittmanm. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd “Bud” C. Dalrymple, Jr. and two brothers, Josef and Johann Wittmann.
Zenta worked for Employees Union Independent in Middletown, CT, until her retirement, at which time she and Bud decided to relocate to Georgia to be near their grandchildren. Zenta was an avid cook, gardener, nature lover and loved to travel. She was an active member of St. Coleman’s Catholic Church in Middlefield, CT and then later, of St. Anne Catholic Church in Columbus, GA.
Zenta will be remembered by her family for many things, one of the most prominent being her endearing use of the English language. Her “How the heck I know” (as in “How should I know?”), “What the heck all?” (as in “What’s going on?”) And “Put it in silver paper.” (as in “ Wrap it in aluminum foil”) will forever be etched in our hearts and minds.
Zenta is survived by her son, Clifford Dalrymple (Priscilla); daughter, Kareen Johnson (Stephen); 4 grandchildren: Rebecca Tranmer (John), Shannon Johnson, Kristopher Johnson (Alina), Paige Smith (Camron) and 7 great-grandchildren.
Private arrangements were handled by McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
