Kenneth S. Stephen Williams

Kenneth Stephen Williams, known affectionately as Ken, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023, in Columbus, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home.

Ken was born on August 16, 1942, in Columbus, Georgia, to the late Wiley and Gertrude Williams. Ken spent his childhood in Georgiana, Alabama and was a graduate of Georgiana High School's Class of 1960. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1960 to 1965. Following his military service, Ken was a dedicated employee of Georgia Power/Southern Company for over 30 years.

Ken had a passion for military history and ancestry, and he was an avid reader, always eager to learn about a wide array of topics. He was a true dog lover and had many pets over the course of his lifetime. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling and seeing live theatrical performances with his wife, Anne. His grandchildren meant the world to him, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

He was a devoted husband to Anne Aldridge Williams for 52 years, and a proud father to Michelle Williams Hudson. He was also a beloved father-in-law to Jeffrey Hudson, and a doting grandfather to Ella and Avery Hudson. Ken is also survived by his brother, Russell Williams and his wife, Claire, of Kentucky, along with several nieces and nephews.
