Kenneth Lamar Smith 50, of Columbus GA, passed away February 4, 2022 at 3:23pm at Piedmont Midtown Center. A funeral service for Kenneth Lamar Smith (Scooter) will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Highland Community Church, 3408 5th Ave, Columbus GA. All are welcomed, we ask that you wear your favorite college team shirt and jeans (casual as it’s what he would have wanted).
He was born on July 27, 1971 in Columbus, GA. He was the son of Dolores (Cuppernell) Heard and Richard Lamar Smith.
Scooter was a sheetrock hanger and drywall finisher, he worked at Phenix Contractors and Alan Sapp Drywall most of his life. His last job was at Classic Rentals, and to him they were family. Scooter spent his Saturdays in front of the TV watching football, he lived to watch Alabama Football "ROLL TIDE".
Scooter leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Pamela (Heath) Smith; their children Ashley Smith (David), Kristie Smith (Chris), and Richard Lamar Smith II, his sister's Kimberly Hopkins (Spot and Ryan), Wendy Smith, Crystal Hopkins, and 9 grandkids Khloie, Nathan, Natalee, Ansleigh, Ryleigh, Aubrey, Peyton, Luke and Hayden.
