Kenneth "Kenny" L. Reed, Sr., 70 of Columbus, GA died June 13, 2020 at St. Francis Emory Healthcare Hospital.
A private funeral service for family and close friends will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 15, 2020 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends following the services at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Guidelines set forth by the CDC and Governor Brian Kemp to maintain social distancing for those attending the funeral will be in effect.
Kenny was born October 2, 1949 in Columbus, GA, to the late Roy E. Reed and Helen Deloach Reed. He retired from the Troup County Sheriff's Department after 30 years beginning his career with the Columbus Police Department. Kenny liked to play golf, go camping with his grandchildren, loved to watch his old TV shows, was an avid Braves and Alabama fan.
Kenny is survived by his wife of nine years, Janet Call Reed, sons Kenneth Reed, Jr. (Christi) of Douglasville, GA, Jeff Reed (Stacie) of Dallas, GA, brother, Ronnie Reed (Angie) of Valley, AL, five grandchildren, Lindsay Holmes, Taylor Reed, Daulton Reed, Karsyn Reed, Graysen Reed, three great-grand children, Nadie Holmes, Rayen Holmes, and Kolton Reed.
