Ret. SSG Kenneth Leroy Fisher, 92, of West Point, Georgia died Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at his residence.
Funeral services with Full Military Honors and Masonic Rites will be held 10 AM Monday, March 9, 2020 in the Chapel at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev Billy Ledbetter officiating. A visitation will be held 4 to 6 PM Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga. 31907.
SSG Fisher was born August 8, 1927 in Baltimore, MD., son of the late James Lacey Fisher and Josephine Lang Fisher. He retired as a SSG with 22 years of service with the United States Army where he served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He also retired from Civil Service after 20 years as an X-ray Technician, and worked at Cardinal Health. His passion was music, news, fishing and his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Bessie Mae Fisher, sister, Catherine Boch and his granddaughter Jessica Sellers.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Conway Fisher, Josephine Gosa (Rod), Dorothy Garner (Johnny), Wanda Sue Aaron (Leon Jr.), Paula Rickard (Randy) all of West Point, Ga., stepchildren, Stan Conway (Leslie) of Atlanta, Marie McGowan (Joseph) of Marietta, Ga., Debbie Gehrlich (Jeff) of Kennesaw, Ga., sister, Dorothy Joan Bittner of LaVale, MD, nine grandchildren:Trela Haralson (Mike), Cindi Denbow, Shelby Montney (Heather), Tina Farrar (Matt), Suzanne Mazola (Ray), Sabrina Baxter, Anna Stanford(Joe)and Randy Roy Rickard and many more wonderful great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
