Katie Phillips Danielly, age 96, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Danielly will be held 1 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2011 at Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Bill Mayhew officiating. The family will receive friends after the service and at the home of her daughter.
Mrs. Danielly was born Katie Ingram Phillips on July 22, 1914 to Alburn Willingham Phillips and Louisa Ingram Phillips whose families were early settlers in Elmore County, Alabama. She moved with her family to Columbus at a young age, graduating from Columbus schools and attending Judson College in Marion, Alabama until her marriage to the late Crowder Flynt Danielly in 1933.
For many years, "Miss Katie" served as the Executive Secretary at the Columbus division of the Bibb Company.
She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church, Woman's Club, and the Pilot Club, of which she twice served as President.
She was preceded in death by a beloved sister, Lois E. Phillips and three brothers, John, Clayton and Hugh Phillips.
Mrs. Danielly is survived by her daughter, the former Mary Ingram Danielly and her husband, James Robert Ramsay III; two grandsons, James Robert Ramsay IV of Columbus, GA and Philip Turner Ramsay, M.D. of Atlanta, GA and a special niece, Mary Phillips Leach of New Braunfels, TX.
