Kathleen W. Mims, 89, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at her residence.
Memorial services will be held 3 PM Sunday, October 18, 2009 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Howle officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Mims was born November 7, 1919 in Abbeville, AL daughter of the late Leonard and Ruby Kay Whitehead. She was a lifelong and active member of Edgewood Baptist Church. She worked for Valley Fabrics for over 40 years. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Wilfred Mims and a brother, Eugene Whitehead.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Jo Davis (Randy) of Columbus, GA, granddaughter, Evelyn Kathleen Garcia of Columbus, GA, grandson, Joseph Amos Garcia (Alicia) of Columbus, GA, and a great grandson, Sammael Garcia of Columbus, GA.
The family would like to thank the staff of Columbus Hospice for all of their hard work.
