Katherine H. Gustafson, 77, of Columbus, GA, died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Vista Care at Franciscan Woods.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Paul Thomas and Reverend Watson McKemie officiating. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, February 11, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Gustafson was born September 12, 1933 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Clancy and Louise (Williams) Hughes. She retired after 28 years as a Registered Nurse at St. Francis Hospital and was a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Gustafson.
Survivors include her daughters, Cheryl Carpenter (Joe) of Columbus, GA, Cindy Gustafson of Sandy Springs, GA, son, Arnold Gustafson, Jr. (Jackie) of Jacksonville, FL, grandsons, Michael Curtis (Elizabeth) of Columbus, GA, Logan Gustafson of Jacksonville, FL, and sister, Peggy Ledbetter of Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Gustafson resided at Covenant Woods Retirement Community for the last three years where she continued to live life to its fullest, adding new friends along the way. She loved her family and her friends, but most of all, she loved her Lord, Jesus Christ and yearned for the day that she would be with Him. Today, she is singing and dancing down the streets of Glory.
