Karen B (Boyd) Hershman

Karen B. Hershman, 64, of Waverly Hall, GA died Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 21, 2020 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory  with Rev. David Helms officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, those attending the funeral service will be required to wear a face mask and social distancing will be in effect.

Karen was born November 20, 1955 in Columbus, GA daughter of Al Boyd and the late Margaret Barton Boyd. She was a Lead Specialist at Aflac for 29 years. Karen loved to read, play games, paint, and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tim Wayne Hershman and her mother, Margaret Barton Boyd.

She is survived by her father, Al Boyd of Waverly Hall, GA, daughters, Kelli Hale (Sonny) of Shiloh, GA, Kristi Johnson (Rodney) of Waverly Hall, GA, brothers, Terry Boyd (Sherri) of Buford, GA, Roger Boyd (Becky) of LaGrange, GA, Robin Boyd (Linda) of Waverly Hall, GA, grandchildren, Justin, Dylan, Kathleen, Andy, Bethani, great-grandchildren, Jacson, Greyson, Liam, several nieces, nephews and other family members.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Bethesda Baptist Church building fund at       3830 GA 85, Ellerslie, GA 31807.
