Karen Anne Hayes, 64, of Columbus, GA and Arcadia, FL, died peacefully on September 29, 2015 at her home in Columbus, GA after her long fight with limb Gertile Muscla-dystrophy.
The family will be holding a small service at her residence, 419 Cheyenne Rd. in Columbus on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Joshua Creek Cemetery in Arcadia, FL on November 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM after which a family and friends remembrance luncheon will be held. As momma would say, Always remember "the best is yet to come".
Karen was born January 30, 1951 in Chillicothe, OH daughter of the late Robert and Betty Buel. She loved outdoors, reading and teaching her grandchildren and great granddaughter. Karen graduated High school in 1968 and then continued her education at the University of Florida.
Karen is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dwain Hayes, daughter, Candice Anne Housel (Clinton) of Columbus, GA, brother, Craig Buel of Jupiter, FL, sister, Cindy Rivers (Jim) of Helena, MT, grandchildren, Nancy Anne Whitehead (Chris) of Ft. Riley, KS, Patricia Anne Housel and Johnathan Patrick Housel both of Columbus, GA, and her great grandchild, Melanie Anne Anderson also of Columbus, GA.
