Jutta K. Luhring, 88, of Columbus, GA, died Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Columbus Hospice House.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 1, 2014 at Fort Benning Main Post Cemetery with Pastor Shirley Redmond officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 -1:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Luhring was born September 27, 1926 in Lauscha, Germany, daughter of the late Fritz Koehler and Marie Segessenmann. On June 29, 1946 she married LeVerne F. Luhring and on June 23, 1948 they moved to the United States. In 1967, she and her husband moved to Columbus, GA and in 1988 she retired from K-Mart on Macon Road as a sales associate. Mrs. Luhring was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, LeVerne F. Luhring and her sister, Flora Queck, and her brother, Alfred Koehler, both of Germany.
Survivors include her children, Vernie E. Luhring (Genevieve) of Columbus, GA, Sherlee L. Bland (Jerry) of Cataula, GA, Bonnie L. Gilmore (Ronald) of Fayetteville, GA, and Randy D. Luhring, Sr. (Linda) of McDonough, GA; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Davis (Joey) of Cataula, GA, Matthue Gilmore , Jeanine Gilmore, and Kristopher Gilmore(fiancé, Emily) all of Fayetteville, GA, and Randy D. Luhring, Jr of McDonough, GA; and 3 great-grandchildren, Emily Davis, Mallory Davis, both of Cataula, GA and Madison Gilmore-O'Neal.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 4026 Macon Road Columbus, GA 31907 or Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Road Columbus, GA 31909.
