June Elaine Starkey 71, of Columbus, Ga. died Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 02, 2018 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Chaplain Allison Owens officiating. Interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Starkey was born February 17, 1947 in Laurel, MS. daughter of the late William Cecil and June Bonner Embry. She was a graduate of Jordan High School, a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and worked as an X-Ray technician for Cobb Hospital, Phenix Regional and Midtown Medical Center.
Mrs. Starkey loved cooking, traveling with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren. Other than her parents, Mrs. Starkey was preceded in death by her brother, William Embry.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, John P. Starkey, daughter, Jessica Lee Allport (Jimmy) of Fortson, Ga., grandchildren, Weston Garrett, Brooks Butler, Beau Butler, Shelby Allport.
