Mr. J.B. Hutto of Columbus, GA passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at his home. He was 87 years old.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday January 9, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Vernon Prather officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Hutto was the son of the late Lula and Jonah Hutto. He was born in Henry County, Alabama on January 16, 1926. After serving in World War II, Mr. Hutto proudly worked for the United Insurance Company of America where he retired after 40 years of service.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter; Wanda Hutto Braziel, his siblings; Edra Pope, Delora Dickey, Linah Campbell, and G.W. Hutto.
Mr. Hutto is survived by his loving wife of 61 years; Martha Foster Hutto, his children; Dennis Hutto (Amy) and Angela Hutto Davis (Chuck), three grandchildren; Stephanie Davis Phillips (Bret), Nicole Richardson Rhinehart (Andrew), and Whitney Ann Davis, five great-grandchildren, his beloved granddogs, two sisters; Deanie Wells (Junior), and Betty Phillips, and a host of nieces and nephews, and cousins.
The family wishes to extend great thanks to the office staff of the late Richard Schwindt, MD, especially to the extraordinary care and compassion given to him by Jane Renuly.
