Julia was born March 15, 1943 at Martin Army Hospital in Ft. Benning, GA to the late Joseph Donovan Bravo and Myrtle Lorraine Stuckey Bravo. She graduated in 1961 from Jordan Vocational High School. On July 20, 1963 she married the love of her life the late Bobby Joe Barefield. As a long time member of Evangel Church, she was a member of the choir, Joint Heirs Sunday School Class and took many missionary trips sharing the word of God. Her career varied during her life time from a stay at home mom to her two children, working in customer service with Atmos Energy and CB&T to being a paraprofessional at Wynnbrook Pre-School.

Some of her most favorite times were when she played French horn in the Jordan High School Marching Band and the Bob Barr Community Band. She loved Tuesday nights at Cracker Barrel and Sunday Lunches with her Sunday school friends from church. She was known for her love for Chick-Fil-A, sometimes eating there multiple times a day. Her children and family even threw her a surprise 80th Birthday party last year at the Bradley Park CFA…her favorite place!
