Judy Dean Cobb, 62, of Cataula, GA died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at her mountain home in Pigeon Forge, TN.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church, 5122 Pierce Chapel Rd., Midland, GA 31820 with Reverend Lynn Meadows-White, Reverend Howard White, and Reverend Eric Bennett officiating. The following will serve as pallbearers: Neal Laye, Scott Laye, Stephen Mockalis, Don Willoughby, Mac Wooldridge, and Richard Howell. The following will serve as honorary pallbearers: Judson Gilmer, Rusty Gilmer, Ricky Wright, Jeff Wright, Jim Wooldridge, and Stanley Williams. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Ms. Cobb was born September 1, 1949 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Oliver L. and Dora Cartledge Cobb. Judy graduated from Jordan High School and West Georgia College in Carrollton, GA. She retired from Ft. Benning Civil Service working in the Division of Child and Youth Services as a Director of Family Childcare and Parent Registration Services. She was a lifetime member of Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church serving in numerous positions in the church.
Survivors include her two sisters, Kathy Cobb of Cataula, GA and Lafaye Cobb (Jim Goldstein) of Virginia Beach, VA and nephew, Richard Dean Goldstein of Virginia Beach, VA, and very special extended family.
