Judy Catrett Bullard
July 4, 1948 — October 22, 2019
Judy Catrett Bullard was surrounded by loved ones as she departed her earthly home for her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 22, 2019.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Sam Allen officiating.
Judy was born July 4, 1948, to William Catrett and Sally McMillian in Columbus, GA. She was a graduate of the 1966 class of Baker High School and a resident of Marion County, GA at the time of her death.
She married the love of her life, Glen Bullard. She fell in love with Glen as a teen and never dated anyone else. They celebrated 53 years of marriage in August. Judy always said Glen was her strongest supporter in all her endeavors.
Judy was a dedicated State of Georgia employee. At retirement, she had served the State for 34 years. She began her career as a Clerk with the Columbus Family and Children Services and advanced to the position of Deputy Director, Fraud and Abuse, at the state level. After retirement, Judy worked for ITek Solutions as a Project Manager.
She was blessed with two special gifts that shined brightly. One was a "caregiver". She lovingly served as primary caregiver to her mother, and recently two nephews, Billy Catrett and Philip "Bimbo" Thomas, during their battle with cancer. Another gift was as a "mentor" to her many nieces and nephews when they needed guidance and/or assistance through difficult circumstances, advise, or just encouragement.
As an animal lover, Judy rescued many needy dogs during her life. The dogs always found her and soon knew they had found their safe haven.
Her parents, mother-in-law, Ethel Bullard; sister, Jeanette Thomas; brothers, W.E. "Gene" Catrett; Ivison Catrett; Travis Catrett and Wiley Catrett, proceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving husband, Glen Bullard; numerous sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.
