Mary Judith Geiger Weise, 87, of Columbus, GA, died Friday, May 1, 2020. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. Mrs. Weise was born January 2, 1933, in Phenix City, AlL. She was the daughter of Mattye Clayton Geiger and James Adley Geiger. She was a graduate of Jordan High School and attended Huntingdon College and Auburn University.
Judy managed her husband's dental practice (Dr. David Weise) for many years and then served as a paraprofessional teacher at Johnson School and at Creekside Middle School. She was an avid gardener and volunteered for Calloway Gardens. She is survived by two of her children, Georgia Weise Cosmah and Christopher Alexander Weise. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Ralph Weise, and two of her children, Elizabeth Ann Shepard and David Ralph Weise, Jr. She has eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Sally Posey Brinkley and Adleyn Geiger Scott.
In lieu of flowers, those so desiring may make contributions in memory of Mrs. Weise to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Rd, Columbus, GA 31909. Love and deep appreciation to Ms. Cindy Davis, who was her recent caregiver.
