Juanita W. McCoy, 78, of Columbus, GA died Friday, February 18, 2011 at The Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, February 20, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tim Jones and Reverend Jim Weldy officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. McCoy was born December 14, 1932 in Sand Mountain, AL daughter of the late Ezra "Ed" Walker and Euna "Eunice" Quarles. She retired from the Civil Service as an Administrator. She was a member of Britt David Baptist Church and its Co-Ed 1 Sunday School Class. She loved playing bridge on Tuesday and Friday at the Fox Senior Center.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandchild, Brittney Lang.
Survivors include her husband of 28 years, James McCoy of Columbus, GA, children, Pamela M. Burke (James E. Burke) of Duluth, GA, Cheryl B. Frantz (Marvin H. Frantz) of Racine, WI and James R.C. Barron of Woodstock, GA, ten grandchildren, Jennifer Cabral, Danielle Long, Zeli Frantz, Zoe Frantz, John Lang, Sarah Burke, Daniel Burke, Joshua Burke and Phoebe Burke, six great grandchildren, brother, Billy Jack Walker of Glencoe, AL, sister-in-law, Patricia D. Waltz and family of Lynn Haven, FL, brother-in-law, John Wesley McCoy of Santa Barbara, CA, niece, nephew and cousins, and special friends, Jewell and William Thomas, Alice McGill, Kathy Tyson, Judy Osbourne, and David Barbee.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial donations to her Sunday School Class at Britt David Baptist Church 2801 West Britt David Rd. Columbus, GA 31909.
