Joyce Elaine May, 84, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, April 13, 2023 at her residence.
A celebration of life will be held 4 PM Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the Columbus Botanical Gardens with a reception to follow according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Joyce was born May 31, 1938 in Georgetown, Kentucky daughter of the late Elzie Lunsford and Ella Mae Mefford Lunsford. Joyce enjoyed gardening, working and reading. She was employed as Office Manager for Alexander Brothers Lumber Company at the time of her death. She had a career expanding over 50 years in banking and was retired from Synovus Bank and Wachovia Bank, formerly First National Bank of Columbus.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Jack Lunsford and sister, Juanita Keller. Survivors include her son, Allan Lee May ( Lori) of Columbus, GA, brother, Jerry Lunsford (Pam) of Green Acre City, FL, friend, Ronnie Bridges of Columbus, Georgia.
