Joyce Marie (Warren) Luquire

Joyce Marie Warren Luquire, 85, of Columbus, GA went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 5, 2022.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Edgewood Baptist Church, 3564 Forrest Rd, Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, also held at Edgewood Baptist Church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery.
Joyce was born March 20, 1936 in Durham, North Carolina to the late David E Warren and Lily Bowden Warren. Joyce had five siblings, Dave Warren, Lou Jean Ferrel, Bob Warren, Terry Proctor, and Paulette Priebe. Joyce was married to Jerry Luquire for 57 years prior to his death. Jerry was a local broadcaster and businessman. She was a long time member of Edgewood Baptist Church where she taught girls Sunday school, sang in the choir, and was a Sunday school leader. Joyce was a graduate of Columbus College and was a district manager for Avon for many years. She retired from the Columbus Medical Center where she was a cardiac rehabilitation therapist, a program which she started and was the only program of its kind in the area at the time. She loved volunteering as a poll worker, helping the Gideons, supported the crisis pregnancy center, and the prayer room. Joyce love to travel with her husband and family. She said that she made it to every state except Hawaii. Joyce loved following the Braves and was thrilled when they won the World Series last year.
Joyce is survived by her children, Brace Luquire (Susan), Bryan Luquire (Sandra), grandchildren Steven Luquire (Bree), Brad Luquire (Tyler), Sophia Luquire, Spencer Luquire, Adam Luquire (Valerie), Justin Luquire, Derek Luquire, along with four great-grandchildren. She also has extended family in Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, and California.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that any offerings in honor of Joyce Luquire for the cure and research in the areas of breast cancer or Alzheimer’s.
