Joshua Richard Allen, 35, of Midland, Ga. died Friday, March 21, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 24, 2014 at Beallwood Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Duncan officiating. A private family interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus. The following will serve as active Pallbearers; Zack Allen, Stan Allen, Brad Blackmon, Tommy Miles, Chuck Enfinger and Blake Stewart.
Josh was born February 16, 1979 in Columbus, Georgia son of Richard Gary and Kathy Shiver Allen both of Midland, Ga. He was employed at Muscogee Glass in Columbus, Ga. and was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church. Josh attended Pacelli High School his freshman and sophomore years where he played baseball. He Graduated in 1997 from Glenwood School where he played baseball and wrestled. He later attended Columbus Tech. In his younger years, he wrestled, played baseball for Pioneer Little League and North Columbus Babe Ruth and was a member of the Beallwood Baptist Church Softball Team as a young adult. He enjoyed boxing at the Haywood Boxing Center in Columbus and enjoyed fresh and salt water fishing and the outdoors. He mostly loved spending time with his family and son Jaxon.
Josh was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandfather Mayor J. R. Allen and Maternal Grandparents Raymond and Elizabeth Shiver.
Survivors other than his parents include his son; Jaxon R. Allen, brother; Zack Allen (Samantha) and their son Marshall I. Allen of Columbus, Ga., Paternal Grandparents; C.L. and Joyce Allen Moffitt of Columbus, Ga., Uncles; Robbie Shiver of Atlanta, Ga. and Stan Allen (Lisa) Aunts; Gwen Allen, Bonnie Shiver and Linda Randall, Carolann Wood (Harry), Cousins; Brooke Osman, Brad Blackmon, Elle Allen, Mary Mac Allen, Aaron Wood (Kassie) and Sarahann Wood all of Columbus, Ga.,
