Josephine was born in Liverpool England February 12, 1935, to the late Domingo and Margaret De La Cruz. She endured the bombing in England in WWII, and gave us many stories to pass down. Many were intrigued with her stories, and showed how God protected her. She came to the states at the age of 18 and at 21 married. She studied and received her citizenship of the United States and we are all proud of that.

Mom loved her family, and was the Rock of the family. Through thick and thin, her faith in Jesus was what got us through.  She never met a stranger, everyone was always welcome. It didn’t matter your race, religion, or anything out of the box. She loved the stray animals and contributed much to their care. She always loved music and sang beautifully. But her faith inthe Lord was instilled in all of us, down to her great, great, grandchildren. She loved a good joke with a beautiful smile andgreat laugh to add to the fun. She loved to sing and dance and was very good at it.  She was an artist with a gift from God and the family will enjoy the treasured drawing and painting she made.

She was an amazingly strong and loving Military wife, Mother and Friend. Mama will be sorely missed everyday especially on Birthdays and family gatherings. But every day we will remember her love and we will carry on.

We will continue to carry our faith in Jesus and her ways in us.  Until we meet again, we love you with all the love we have and will never forget what your legacy has given us.

Other than her parents she is preceded in heaven by her husband Lynwood C. Runion and her 2 sons, Lynwood Runion, III, David Runion and sister, Carlotta Pettitt.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Zebreski, of Phenix City AL, Carol Vinyard (Mark) of Ladona, AL, grandchildren, Christina Nowlin (Brandon), Daniel Haden (Elizabeth), Jessie Haden, Damon Runion, three great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren.
