Joseph Patrick Shanahan, Jr., 65, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, July 31, 2021 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held 6:00 PM Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 179 Lee Rd. 2110 Salem, AL 36874, according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Joseph was born October 13, 1955 in District Heights, MD to the late Joseph Patrick Shanahan, Sr. and Elizabeth Inabinet Shanahan. He worked in retail at Publix Grocery Store. He loved being outside and spending time with his family. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Daniel Harris Shanahan.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cynthia Elizabeth Harris Shanahan of Columbus, GA, Cory Shanahan (Christina) of Columbus, GA, Katie McDade (Brent) of Salem, AL, Hilary Cooke (Kyle) of Dothan, AL, siblings, Kathy Sanzaro, Michael Shanahan, Margaret Diaz, Timothy Shanahan, Christopher Shanahan, Mary Digirolamo, grandchildren, Milo Shanahan, Ashton Shanahan, Trinity McDade, Lauren McDade, Liam McDade, Kyle Cooke, Jr., Abigale Cooke, Courtney Cooke and Heidi Cooke.
