Retired SSG Jose Luis Ramos,75 of Columbus died Sunday August 26, 2018 at his residence.
Military Graveside services will be held 10 AM Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, Alabama. Visitation will be held Monday 5 to 6 PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga. 31907.
Jose was born March 12, 1943 in Puerto Rico to the late Aniceto Ramose and Christina Ortiz Torres. He retired as a SSG with 20 years of service in United States Army with his last 10 serving as a police officer for the Department of Defense.
Jose is survived by his wife of 48 years Carmen Ramos of Columbus, his children Edna Iffla, Jacklyn Barretto, Jose Ramos, Jr., Rafael Ramos, Nancy Murray, Martha Medina all of Pflugerville, TX., Jose Guerra and Noemi Padin both of Midland, Ga. and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
