Jonathan “Kevin” Lott, was a beacon of courage, kindness, and selflessness throughout his 52 years of life. Born on June 18th, 1972, in Columbus, Georgia, Kevin brought light into the lives of everyone he touched until his passing on July 28th, 2024. His legacy is a testament to the power of living a life devoted to service, family, and joy.

Kevin's journey was marked by an unwavering commitment to service. After earning his Associate's degree in Fire Science at CVCC, he dedicated over two decades to the Columbus fire department, ascending to the role of Battalion Chief in 2023, a role in which he exemplified leadership and bravery. His courage not only saved lives but also inspired a generation of firefighters to pursue excellence with compassion.

Beyond the fire station, Kevin's world was abundant with the joys of the great outdoors. Whether it was fishing with his father, hunting with his friends and son-in-laws, camping with his family, or spending time at the beach with his wife… every moment was a moment full of life and so much love.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ricky, yet his legacy is carried forward by his loving family: his wife of 24 years, Kristi, who was his steadfast companion in all walks of life; his daughters Montana and Olivia, who, with their spouses Tek and Kaleb, brought immense joy into his world; his precious grandchildren, Field and Finley Jane, who were the sparkle in his eye and will grow up in the warmth of his memory, learning about their Poppy, whose heart was as expansive as the Georgia sky. His devoted mother, Brenda; his caring mother-in-law Dianne and her husband Rick; his supportive siblings, Ricky Jr. and Stephanie, along with Stephanie's husband Bobby and his sister-in-law Tracy and her husband Todd. His niece Abbey and nephews Kyle, Chris, and Cody also held a special place in his heart, carrying forward his spirit of generosity and love.

Beyond his family, Kevin's interests painted a picture of a man who lived life to the fullest. Saturdays were sacred for watching Georgia football and cooking his favorite meals. Golfing was not just a hobby, but a way to connect with friends and enjoy his love for nature. Camping trips were cherished family times full of storytelling, laughter, and the building of lifelong memories. These simple pleasures were the cornerstone of Kevin's life.

As we celebrate Kevin's life, let us find the strength to face our challenges with the same courage he showed in the face of fire. Let us embrace our loved ones with the same gentleness in which he embraced his family and friends.

In his passing, Kevin leaves behind not just a void but a legacy of love, laughter, and an unshakable commitment to his community. His life is a reminder that each day is an opportunity to live fully, to serve with passion, and to love without reservation. Kevin's story is not one of an ending, but a continuous inspiration that will ripple through the lives he touched for generations to come. In every fish that jumps on the line, every crackle of a campfire, every shared meal with family and friends, and on every call, we will feel Kevin's spirit among us, guiding us to live a life as rich and as meaningful as his own. Kevin's journey on this earth was a remarkable one, and his light will continue to shine bright in the hearts of all who knew him.

Kevin’s life will be celebrated on Thursday, August 8, at Cascade Hills Church at 11 AM. Visitation with the family will follow the service.
