Johnny Ray Allen, 77, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday February 5, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday February 7, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA, with Reverend Emory Evans officiating. A private interment will be held at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Allen was born October 17, 1936 in Thomaston, GA to the late Claude H. Allen, Sr. and Hazel Higgins Allen. Mr. Allen was a US Navy veteran. He retired from the Civil Service as a clerk at Ft. Benning and later worked at the Muscogee County Health Dept. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Robert Allen.
Survivors include his son, John "Randy" Allen (Lillian) of Cataula, GA, sisters, Sandra Pippin (Foy) of Plano, TX, Linda Harkin (Denny) of Plano, TX, brothers, Claude Allen, Jr. (Jodie) of Banker, TX, Kenneth Allen of Allen, TX, grandchildren, Caleb Allen and Micah Allen both of Cataula, GA and Megan Allen of Austin, TX, and companion, Claude Blue of Columbus, GA.
