Johnnie Artie Powers, 78, of Columbus died Sunday February 6, 2011 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Cascade Hills Church with Rev. Bob Hawkins officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
Mr. Powers was born May 9, 1932 in Columbus, GA son of the late Drucille Wise Powers and William Artie Powers. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was the superintendent for Edgar Hughston and later became the foreman for Southern Rewinding for ten years. He attended Cascade Hills Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Powers Clark of Columbus, GA; son, Rod Powers and wife Jenn of Midland, GA and four grandchildren, Danielle Clark, Chance Clark, Bradon Gay and Ashton Powers.
