Johnathan Blake Wittschen, a beloved son, caring brother, and devoted father, left this world on April 21, 2025, in Flat Rock Park, Columbus, GA. A shining light in the lives of all who knew him, Blake was born on February 22, 2001, in Phenix City, AL. He brought joy and laughter wherever he ventured, lighting up any room with his beautiful smile and striking blue eyes.

A visitation will be held 5:00PM - 8:00PM, Thursday April 24, 2025 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA 31907. Graveside Services will be held 11:00AM EST,Friday April 25, 2025 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery in FT Mitchell, AL.

A graduate of Hardaway High School in 2019, Blake embodied the spirit of hard work and dedication. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 2019 to 2023, earning several commendations including the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and Sharp Shooter Rifle Qualification Badge. His service was a reflection of his character—a true sense of duty and honor that he carried with him in all aspects of his life.

Blake had a passion for life that was contagious. He owned his own lawn care service, where his strong work ethic shone through. He loved the great outdoors, finding joy in fishing, hunting, and watching dirt track racing. To him, being outside was not just a pastime; it was an integral part of who he was. His kind heart led him to give selflessly, always ready to lend a hand, often described as someone who would give the shirt off his back to help others.

In May 2024, surrounded by the warmth of family and love, Blake experienced a profound moment when his father baptized him on Mother’s Day. This cherished memory serves as a testament to the deep faith that guided his life. His love for the Lord was unwavering, and his presence now brings comfort to those grieving his loss, knowing he is in Heaven with Jesus.

Blake was a proud father to his daughter, Kinslee Marie Johnson, whom he adored beyond words. His family was his world; he maintained close relationships with his parents, Heather and Bobby Hall, and his cherished grandparents, Patricia Holton, Danny Wombles Sr. (Carol). He leaves behind a loving support system that includes his sister Shannon Haas (Dave), Alexis Lawrence (Tyler), his brothers, JR Hall (Anne Laurie), Travis Hall, including Josh Spadaro (Chelsea), and Kaleb Spadaro (Sarah), Jeremiah Wombles, Austin Wombles, Michael Wombles, many other siblings. His legacy also lives on through the countless nieces and nephews who greatly looked up to him.

His warm, generous spirit will be missed profoundly by his family and friends. Johnathan Blake Wittschen’s memory will forever resonate in the hearts of those who loved him, a reminder of a life filled with laughter, love, and an unwavering sense of humanity. As we remember him, let us celebrate the laughter he brought, the love he shared, and the faith that guided him in both life and beyond.
