John Wesley Short

The graveside funeral service of Mr. John Wesley Short, USAF (Ret.), 72 of Columbus, GA, who died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, will be held Friday, Feb. 21, 2020 at 2:30 PM at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA., with full military honors.
Mr. Short was born March 14, 1947 in Americus, GA., son of the late James Thomas and Ada Bell Kelly Short. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years service, as an E-7. He also retired from Flint Energies Member Service after 10 years as a technician. He was Protestant by faith. He was also preceded in death by three sisters Peggy Varnum, Nannette Jackson and Carol Jackson and two brothers Bill Short and Bobby Short.
He is survived by three daughters Jennifer Kiever (Bobby) of California, Alicia Jones (Michael) of Warner Robins, GA. and Dawn Flantos (Chris), of North Carolina and his sister Elizabeth Plowden of Macon, GA. Five grandchildren Anthony Kiever, Adam Kiever, Naliah Jones, Pressley Ennis, Brayden Jones and soon to be Olivia Flantos and two great-grandchildren Anthony Kiever, Jr. and Jeremiah Kiever.
