Mr. John Roland Moore, 86 of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Columbus Hospice House.
Graveside Services with full military honors will be 11:00 AM EST Friday, September 26, 2014 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00- 8:00PM at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Moore was born May 27, 1928 in Manchester, GA, son of the late Willie and Fay Moore. He was in the United States Army and gallantly served in WWII. After leaving the service, he worked as an engineer for Norfolk Southern Railroad. Mr. Moore was active in the Shriners as an ALCAZAR Ambassador.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Ruth Emory Moore; four brothers; two sisters and several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Keith and Charlene Eason.
