MSG (Ret) John Albert Montville, 80, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Vista Care at Franciscan Woods.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning, GA. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mr. Montville was born June 24, 1931 in Worcester, MA son of the late Ernest J. Montville, Sr. and Blanche Newsome Montville. He attended South High School in Worcester, MA. He retired from the U.S. Army after serving over 20 years in Italy, Japan and during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shimako Nakura Montville,
Survivors include his sisters, Ruby Reilly and Shirley Pelletier both of Spencer, MA; his brother, Earl Montville of Yuma, AZ; several nieces and nephews and his lifelong friend, Ayako Hoefort of Columbus, GA.
Flowers will be accepted but those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1382, Columbus, GA 31902.
