John Edwin Landress, 74, of Hamilton, GA, died Thursday, February 12, 2015 at his residence.
Funeral Services will be held 12:00 PM, Monday, February 16, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Landress was born June 10, 1940 in Columbus, GA, son of the late John Berry Landress and Lucille Randall Landress. He was a graduate of Columbus High School and later attended Columbus State University, Auburn University, and Chattahoochee Valley Community College. After 27 years with the Columbus Police Department, he worked for Synovous. Mr. Landress was a member of New Visions Church in Waverly Hall and was married to the late Debra Henderson Landress for 16 years.
Survivors include his son, Ricky Tondee (Wanda) of Hamilton, GA; daughter, Lucy May of Newport News, VA; sister, Peggy Horton of Palm Bay, FL ; 2 grandchildren, Amanda May and Brian May both of Newport News, VA; one great-grandchild, Isabella May of Newport News, VA; and many loving friends.
