John Robert Hammock, Sr.

John Robert Hammock, Sr., 83, of Upatoi, GA died Sunday, July 10, 2022 at his residence. Funeral services with Fireman Honors will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend Mark Burnett officiating. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Robert was born November 24, 1938 in Georgia, son of the late James Raymond Hammock and Eva Mae Hubbard Hammock. He retired from the Columbus Fire Department after 36 years of service as an Assistant Fire Chief.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Judith Ann Hammock of Upatoi, GA; son, John Robert Hammock, Jr. (Kathy) of Upatoi, GA; daughter, Donna Kaye Fox of Upatoi, GA; grandchildren, Charles Wesley Mears III of Columbus, GA, Blakely Elizabeth McFarland (Eric) of Columbus, GA, John Robert Hammock III (Stefanie) of Fortson, GA, Cesalie Anne Mears of Columbus, GA; and his sister, Edna Lee Hammock (Marel) of Fortson, GA.
