Mr. Halley was born on February 14, 1945 in Yonkers, New York to the late Gilda “Jill” Pavone Halley.  John graduated from Gordon High School, Yonkers, NY in 1963; following graduation he joined the U.S. Airforce. After serving his country, he began his career at Polychrome Corporation in Yonkers, NY. He wanted to further his career and graduated Iona University, New Rochelle, NY with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business while working at Polychrome and living with his family in Fishkill, NY. John relocated his family from New York in 1990 to help facilitate the relocation of Polychrome Corporation to Columbus, GA which in time was bought out by Eastman Kodak. John retired from Kodak in 2009 as Purchasing Manager.

His love of gardening made our home absolutely beautiful and it was truly his pride by teaching his grandchildren the love of gardening and growing flowers. Anyone that knew John knew his love of politics and Fox News 24/7. He had strong opinions, loved his country and was a true patriot. He also loved golf even though he slacked off playing in his later years. His best times were hitting the greens with his work buddies. Above all else, John’s family wants him to be remembered as a man of honor, faith, high integrity, dedication, a man of his word and that he loved his wife and family with his entire being. Other than his mother he is preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Halley.

John is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sue Dison Halley, children, Ian M. Halley (Katie), Erin T. Halley (Clark), Jason F. Halley, Todd Flowers, and Brad Hobbs (Dea). He was blessed with six grandchildren, Chloe Anne Halley, Jaxson Jacob Halley, Kelsey Leigh Halley, Robert Carlton Hobbs, Hunter Wayne Hobbs and Brodie David Hobbs, sister, Mary Halley of Baltimore, Maryland, several nieces and nephews.
