John "Cary" Arwood

John "Cary" Arwood, Jr., 76, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Gentiva Hospice.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Daniel Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Arwood was born January 29, 1940 in Eufaula, AL son of the late John C. Arwood, Sr. and Dolly Payne Arwood. He graduated in 1958 from Jordan High School and retired from SunTrust Bank. Cary was the former owner of Peppers BBQ, and later worked for Baker Music Shop and as a Bailiff for the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office. He was a former member of the East Columbus Lions Club and a member of Veterans Memorial Baptist Church.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou Arwood.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Kirven Arwood of Columbus, GA, daughters, Kathy Steward (Jimmy) of Eufaula, AL and Sandra Tarkington of Walnut Creek, CA, sons, Wes Arwood (Debbie) of Emond, OK, Tony Steverson of Bonifay, AL and Mike Steverson of Chipley, FL, step-children, Paula Adame (Joe) and Pamela Forrester of Columbus, GA, brother, Jerry Wayne Arwood (Monette) of Columbus, GA, sister, Anne Arwood Price of Phenix City, AL, 9 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
