COLUMBUS, GA - John D. Aman, Jr., 76, of Columbus, GA died Friday, January 8, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 10,2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jonathan Merritt officiating. There will be a private interment at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mr. Aman was born March 25, 1933 in Greenville, North Carolina son of the late John D. Aman, Sr. and Ruth Brown Aman. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a retired mobile home salesman in Columbus and Phenix City and was a Methodist by faith.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Carolyn Aman of Columbus, GA; sons, Steve Downey (Julia) of Columbus, Robert Downey of Columbus; daughters, Heather Aman of New York, Kathy Wagner (James) of Mt. Airy, NC, Gina Benoit of New Iberia, LA; sister, Francis Ward (Jim) of Greensboro, NC; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted by those who wish may make memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association, 3 Corporate Square, Suite 120, Atlanta, GA 30329.
