John Robert “Bobby” Alexander , 80, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at his home, surrounded by family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on 3:00 PM, Sunday, June 2, 2024 at his home church, The Church in the County in Cataula, GA. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Bobby was born on May 20, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA, son of the late Robert Earl Alexander and Mary Lester Harris.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Janie Cannon Alexander, sister Donna Niemann (Lothar), brother, David Alexander (Carol), children, Greg Sanchez (Terri), Lisa Strickland (Ed), Lara Hart (Tommie), John Alexander (Lisa), Lynda Alexander, Jed Alexander, as well as, 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 3 on the way. He stated in his last days that his family was his greatest accomplishment.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Vietnam war. He was the owner of Alexander Plumbing Company for over 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing & gardening. He was a true outdoorsman at heart.
