Joe Oliver Todd, 89, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at his residence.
A celebration of Life service will be held 4:00 P.M. Saturday February 15, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Robert Beckum officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the services at the funeral home.
Mr. Todd was born April 29, 1924 in Clermont, Fl. son of the late Albert Owen and Martha Ellen Hall Todd. He retired from the United States Air Force and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Todd was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and the New Beginnings Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the West Georgia Day Light #760 Masonic Lodge, Albany #24 Masonic Lodge, and the Eastern Star Ft. Benning Chapter.
His Wife Frances M. Todd and his grandson Wyatt Matthew Barfield and granddaughter Wendy Miles preceded Mr. Todd in death.
Survivors include two daughters; Debbie Todd Hamilton (Allen) and Jo Frances Todd Kinavey (Marty) all of Columbus, Ga., four grandchildren, Bambi Crivello, Todd Barfield, Jarred Hamilton, and Hunter Hamilton, six great grandchildren, Wesley Barfield, Ian Crivello, Justin Hamilton, Jeb Hamilton, Sydney Hamilton, and Porter Hamilton, one great great grandchild Julianna Barfield.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Children's Masonic Home, 1417 Nottingham Dr. Macon, GA 31211 or St. Luke United Methodist Church Samaritan Fund, P.O. Box 863 Columbus, GA 31902.
