Joan S. Owen, 74, of Columbus, GA died Monday, June 3, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Owen was born May 21, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA daughter of the late Wilton and Laura Taylor Ewing. Survivors include her beloved sister Eileen Ewing of Warrington, PA, loving aunt to nieces, Lisa Robinson and her husband, Jerry, of Camby, IN and Maria Hartsfield of Columbus, GA, and her grand niece and grand nephews, Cecilia Arnold, Thomas Meers, Jr., Robert J. Busack, Jr. and little John Hartsfield.
She retired as a Registered Nurse from Martin Army Community Hospital. She also was a nurse at the Medical Center, St. Francis, Hughston Hospitals, and Phenix Regional.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Owen.
