Jodie was born on February 7, 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ruth Bernice and Desmond Kimble Davis. She was a 1966 graduate of Tulsa Edison High School. Her passion during High School was tennis, as she got a lot of coverage in the sports pages of the Tulsa World. In the summer of 1964, she entered the Indian Nation Tennis Tournament in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where she won the women’s sixteen and under singles title, the women’s sixteen and under doubles title, the women’s eighteen and under singles title, and placed second in the women’s eighteen and under doubles title. She was then selected to represent Oklahoma in the national JC Tennis Tournament in Tampa, Florida.

Jodie was a follower of Jesus Christ, and served in churches in Houston, Texas, Lafayette, Louisiana, and Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was also active in Bible Study Fellowship. In 1987, Jodie and her husband, Bill, joined Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was active in missions, women’s Bible studies, and Sunday School, and found a new passion in Global Gardens as she volunteered to be a mentor for middle-school students after hours in the Asbury gardens. Jodie had a unique gift from God and that was an ability to make friends, to keep friends, and to be a friend. She had no hidden agendas.

In January, 2015, Jodie & Bill moved to Columbus, Georgia, to be closer to older Grandchildren. They joined St Luke United Methodist Church. In 2017, Jodie was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and was well supported by the wonderful people at St Luke.

Jodie is survived by her husband, Bill., her daughter, Megan Long (Andy) of Boone, NC, her daughter, Lisa Moore (Jonathan) of Columbus, GA, and her son, William Johnson III (Katy) of Guthrie, OK. She is survived by seven Grandchildren, Olivia and Jonah Long, Gabi and Jazz Moore, and Makayla, Maisy and Bo (Bob) Johnson. She is also survived by her sister, Debra Luther (Mike) of Oklahoma City, and her brother, Kimble Davis (Pam) of Tulsa.
