Jo Canady Hammonds

Mrs. Jo Canady Hammonds, 83 of Columbus, GA, died Sunday July 25, 2021 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday July 28, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Faith Worship Center International  (formerly Miller Road Sanctified Church)  5303 Miller Rd., Columbus, GA. 31909.  Rev. Tim Wright will officiate.  Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday July 28, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the church.

Mrs. Hammonds was born December 2, 1937 in Birmingham, AL, daughter of the late Alban Fisher Canady and Charlene Robinson Canady.  She attended Baker High School and was a 1954 graduate of Hallie Turner Private School.  She was an office manager for many years.  She was an avid reader, artist and quilter.  Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, David Hart Hammonds and her brother Lawrence Canady.

She is survived by her sons David Hammonds (Tammy Renea) and Todd Hammonds (Renee) both of Columbus, GA and her daughter Katrina Stoess (Marshal) of Salem, AL, brothers Edwin Nash Canady (Gabrielle) of Virginia and Joshua Stanton Canady of the Greater Atlanta, GA area. Seven grandchildren. Jennifer Renea Hammonds, Robert Eric Hammonds, Kenneth David Hammonds, Kelyn Noelle Hammonds Wilkinson (Joel), Kara Mikelle Hammonds, Matthew Breck Stoess (Ashley) and BreAnna Stoess Kendrick (Kyrell), six great-grandchilren Thatcher David Hammonds, Arden Luke Wilkinson,Christine Fuller, Gracie Stoess, Kiera Kendrick and Kaladin Kendrick.
