His first form of employment came as a manager of several Piggly Wigglys in the Columbus area. He was a loyal employee for the Piggly Wiggly for over 10 years. Jimmy was married to the former Betty Gary for 55 years. He demonstrated daily to his sons what a Godly husband was supposed to look like. He was a loving husband, father and Poppy.
He was a member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church. Prior to his membership at Wynnbrook he and his family were long time members of Britt David Baptist Church, more than anything Jimmy loved Jesus. Anyone who was around him for any amount of time was able to pick up on that.
