Jimmy Wayne Reaves, 70, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, February 14, 2021 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, February 18, 2021 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Lynn White-Meadows officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 facemasks and social distancing will be required during the service and visitation.
Jimmy was born November 4, 1950 in Alexander City, AL to the late Jimmie Lou Reaves and Mary White Gleason. Jimmy served in the U.S. Army for 24 years, retiring as a 1SG. After retiring from the military, being a man who could not be idle, he pursued new job opportunities. He drove commercially on the east coast for several years, was a driving and safety instructor, owned and operated a bowling pro shop and managed several bowling centers. Jimmy was an avid bowler and certified coach who enjoyed teaching new players of all ages. Jimmy was a member of Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church, he loved to golf, run, play softball, and enjoyed working in the yard.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Alberta Cass Reaves of Columbus, GA, daughters, Jennifer Jones (Timmy) of Phenix City, AL, Kimberly McPhee (Jason) of Raeford, NC, sister, Debbie Sprinkle (Larry) Statesville, NC, Sue Martin of Mobile, AL, Missy Cotton of Mobile, AL, grandchildren, Caden McPhee, Finley McPhee, Haley Jones, Garrett Jones, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
