Jim Mobley

Jim Hayes Mobley, 87, of Cataula, GA died Saturday, March 22, 2025 in Cave City, Arkansas.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 27, 2025 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Jerry Accettura officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Georgia. Burial will be held at Parkhill Cemetery.

Jim was born September 21, 1937 in Emery, AR to the late Garland Rutherford Mobley and Ozella Jarrett Mobley. In the year of 1955, Jim graduated from Cave City High School and just four short years later he joined the U.S. Army where he served proudly until the year 1968. He worked for his father-in-law drilling wells with Robertson Well Drilling and retired after 28 years from WC Bradley. He was known to listen to the classic blue grass music genre. Jim enjoyed being outdoors; whether it was fishing, farming, or blueberry picking, he was there to embrace it all.

In addition to his parents, Jim is predeceased by his wife, Virginia R. Mobley, his infant son, Gregory Scott Mobley, his brother, Garland Delbert Mobley, and his sister, Helen Diann Wooldridge.

Jim is survived by his children, Karen Lynn Mobley of Columbus, GA, George Glenn Mobley of Columbus, GA, Brian Keith Mobley (Donna) of Cave City, AR, and Vanessa Gayle Mobley Carson (David) of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Dylan Carson of Columbus, GA, Evan Mobley (Alexis) of Cave City, AR, Kaitlyn Carson (Adam McCormick) of Cataula, GA, Corbin Mobley (Christi) of Cave City, AR, and Ginnie Taylor (Hunter) of Cave City, AR; great-grandchildren, Adam Daniel McCormick, Samuel Colt Mobley, Athena Jade Mobley, Cohen Blake Rhoads, Paisleigh Mae Mobley, Wesley Wayne Mobley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
