Jill Elizabeth Strickland Lachut

Jill Elizabeth Strickland Lachut, a beacon of joy, laughter, and die-hard Alabama football enthusiasm, left us to join the heavenly tailgate on August 23, 2024. Born on June 15, 1973, in Columbus, GA, Jill warmed the hearts of those she loved, especially her adoring husband, John Lachut, who proudly held the title of the Love of her Life.

Funeral services will be held 11:00AM, Friday, August 30, 2024 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Ed Rollins officiating. The family will receive friends for a visitation one hour prior at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.

Jill shared her life with family that included her in-laws, Sarah & Tom Sliva. She embraced the role of the world's coolest stepmother to John Jr. and his wife Miranda, Tara Lachut, and Amanda March (Nick). Her affection carried on to her grandchildren Autumn, JJ, Ethan, Richard Harper, and Peyton.

Jill's wit was an inherited trait from the Strickland clan, passed down from her mother, Dianne, her father, Willis, and her brother, Steve Strickland, who had previously taken their seats in Heaven. On this side of the stage, her sister, Pamela Strickland Crowder, and brother-in-law Jeff, along with the next generation, nieces Chelsea (Brock),, and nephews Tyler and Jamie Crowder (Kristie), will carry on her legacy of laughter and love, not to mention the mischief of little John Cohen, Emory, Eden, Alaina, and Finn.

When not rallying behind the cry of "Roll Tide Roll," Jill could be found spoiling her beloved dogs, Boo Boo, Bella, and Gracie. They were paws-itively convinced their MOM was the funniest human! Jill's grand finale may have come, but her funny spirit will forever live through the lives she touched. Heaven, get ready to 'Roll Tide Roll'
